“I walked into the Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology one day after radiation and really liked it,” says Gene Alper, who came to UCLA Health for radiation and ongoing treatment after partial surgery on a brain tumor. “I really enjoy being in the company of other cancer patients and survivors. I find it very uplifting. We did a wonderful art activity where we went outside to do some great freeform art, sort of a la Jackson Pollock. We were encouraged to create and express ourselves and not draw between the lines, so we just splattered paint everywhere. I'm finding the Simms/Mann UCLA Center for Integrative Oncology to be a very nice corollary to my medical treatment.”
