I'm Here Today

21 years ago I had a quadruple bypass then last March I had a minor heart attack,” says 61-year-old James Harris, who was admitted to Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center to wait for a heart transplant. “I was here for two and a half months waiting, and then a heart finally came. I thought I woke up the next day after the transplant, but they told me it was eight days later. I was so weak I couldn’t even lift my arms, but they did everything to help me get better and now I’m here today. Everyone here is compassionate. You can tell they care about their patients. It’s been nine months since my transplant and I just want to thank them for all they do.
