“I was coming down for lunch and saw the Blessing of Hands,” remarks Sherri Echols, an ACP in the med-surg unit at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. UCLA Health chaplains were praying over nurses hands and blessing them. “I’ve never had my hands blessed, but I believe it’s a good thing. It’s a different experience, but it felt really natural. I see the chaplains around the hospital and chat with them sometimes. I do a lot of deskwork, so there’s not as much patient care, but I still try to help the patients as much as I can. Having my hands blessed was really nice.”
