“I’ve volunteered for more than 3,000 hours,” says John Goldrick, a volunteer at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica and model in the annual Auxiliary Volunteer Luncheon and Fashion Show. All the clothes were chosen from the Auxiliary Thrift Store, whose profits benefit patients in the hospital. “I went into the Auxiliary Thrift Store and looked at all the clothes. Most of the jackets were business-oriented, and I wanted something that would give a wow effect, so I chose this one. I like volunteering because it enables me to meet and help people.”
