ACGME Fellowship Application Requirements

The ACGME Fellowship positions are open to applicants who have completed their training in a US or Canadian ACGME accredited AP/CP, AP only, or CP only residency program. The applicant must be Board eligible or Board certified. International medical school graduates will be considered only if they have completed their residency training in a US or Canadian ACGME accredited residency program. A California medical license is required on the first day of fellowship.  

Applications 

The following documents must be submitted for Fellowship consideration:

  • Application
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Personal Statement
  • Letter of Good Standing from your current program director
  • Photo
  • Three letters of Reference (addressed to the Program Director of the discipline in which you are applying) 

In addition, medical graduates from institutions outside of the U.S. or Canada must provide:

  • Copy of PTAL letter
  • Copy of ECFMG certificate
  • Passport
  • Either of the following, as applicable:
    • Copy of Visa (must have J1 Clinical)
    • Proof of Permanent U.S. Residence or Citizenship

Please note that the ACGME Fellowships are one year, with the exception of Neuropathology, which is a two-year program.

Beginning July 1st, you will be able to access our application management system, UC Recruit, to upload your documents for Pathology ACGME Fellowship programs. If you have any questions regarding the information below, please contact the program coordinator for the specific program.
