About

Dr. Bi Mo is a board-certified interventional spine and pain specialist with the UCLA Medical Group, focused on advanced minimally invasive surgery and image-guided interventions for spine and major joint pain conditions. His practice emphasizes procedural care and neuromodulation when appropriate, complemented by evidence-based, non-opioid therapies to restore function and reduce pain through individualized, patient-centered treatment plans.

He completed his undergraduate education at Emory University in Atlanta, graduating summa cum laude in Biology, and earned his MD from Marshall University School of Medicine with highest distinction. He was inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society and the Gold Humanism Honor Society.

Dr. Mo began his postgraduate training in Neurological Surgery at UC Davis Medical Center, where he developed a strong surgical foundation, and later completed fellowship training at UCLA Medical Center, specializing in technically advanced, minimally invasive interventional care for complex spine and major joint pain conditions. He trained under respected leaders including Dr. Gene Viscusi at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Dr. Michael Ferrante at UCLA.

Originally from Singapore, Dr. Mo is fluent in English and Mandarin. His professional interests include cutting-edge minimally invasive techniques, AI in pain intervention, lifestyle and culinary medicine, the broader impact of technology in healthcare, and fine art. As faculty at the David Geffen School of Medicine, he is committed to serving the community, and outside of work he enjoys painting, traveling, and spending time with his wife and their three young children.
