Healthy Chocolate Mousse Recipe with Tofu & Cocoa Powder

  • 6 oz (one box) Mori-Nu silken-firm or extra-firm tofu (the shelf-stable kind in the Asian aisle)
  • ¾ tsp cocoa powder
  • ¾ cup chocolate chips (use stevia-sweetened chips for lower-sugar option; Lily’s brand is one example)
  • ½ tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp milk of choice
  • Pinch of salt 
  • 3 tsp maple syrup (optional; taste before adding and add one at a time, tasting in between)


  1. Melt the chocolate, either on the stove or in the microwave.
  2. Add chocolate and remaining ingredients to a Magic Bullet or food processor and blend until smooth.
  3. Taste and adjust sweetener accordingly.
  4. Serve with fresh berries for a high fiber dessert.
