Awards/Honors: HeartRhythm Honors UCLA Cardiologist

Dr. Marmar Vaseghi

Dr. Marmar Vaseghi (RES ’05, FEL ’09, ’11), a cardiology specialist and clinical instructor in the Department of Medicine of the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, was selected to be the first recipient of the prestigious Joan and Douglas P. Zipes Publication of the Year Award. She was honored at Heart Rhythm 2015, the Heart Rhythm Society’s 36th Annual Scientific Sessions, which took place in May 2015, in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Vaseghi’s article about cardiac patients with refractory ventricular arrhythmias, or electrical storm, was published in the March 2014 issue of HeartRhythm. The publication established the Joan and Douglas P. Zipes Publication of the Year Award to honor the seminal article published in HeartRhythm that most contributed to major advances in understanding and/or treating cardiac arrhythmias.
