 Santa Monica Volunteer Opportunities

Welcome Ambassador (Information Desk)

Trained volunteers assist customers by phone and in person. Volunteers access electronic medical record to provide assistance for patients and visitors needing directions. Volunteers must be friendly, computer literate, dependable, patient and able to come in on time on scheduled days.JJ.jpg

Creative Arts Program

This is a patient related position. Volunteers share the positive benefits of art and round to patient units, spending time with patients at bedside, and provide art/craft materials and activity kits for patient use. candace.jpg

Special Services

Volunteers assemble and deliver special birthday boxes and boxes of cheer for our patients.  Volunteer hairstylists (licensed California cosmetologists only) cut patient's hair upon request via patient nurse.  Volunteer musicians play guitar, piano, harp, flute, or cello at the bedside for geriatric and oncology patients, and patients at end of life.ilse.JPG

Floater

Under the Volunteer Services' supervision and direction, floaters contribute in a wide array of duties and responsibilities, which include administrative and clerical tasks. Volunteers must be flexible, computer literate and able to walk around hospital delivering items, if necessary, for part of shift . Shifts are Monday through Friday during business hours only.
