Academic Appointment: Health Sciences Assistant Clinical Professor
Dr. Roach specializes in the research and treatment of benign hematologic disorders including hemophilia, von Willebrand Disease, and other rare bleeding disorders, as well as thrombotic disorders such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism, and stroke. He also treats patients with hemoglobinopathies including sickle cell disease.
The UCLA Pediatric Blood Disorders Program is led by Dr. Pamela Kempert. The team provides clinical and diagnostic services to patients with non-malignant hematologic disorders, including bleeding disorders, hypercoagulable states, anemias, and disorders of white blood cells and platelets. This includes both bone marrow failure syndromes as well as destructive cytopenias. We have an active consultation service for all of these types of cases and in addition specialize in the diagnosis and management of immunologic dysfunction in organ transplant recipients.
We are a referral center for the State newborn screening program for hemoglobinopathy.
