The UCLA Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) Program is dedicated to providing the highest
quality of patient care, performing cutting-edge research, and educating patients and
healthcare professionals about the latest advances.
UCLA offers comprehensive care for Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD) for both autosomal
dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) and autosomal recessive polycystic kidney
disease (ARPKD) through a team approach that includes collaboration among specialists in
nephrology, urology, radiology, transplant, dialysis, hepatology, neurology, cardiology,
dermatology, genetics, OB/GYN, pain, infectious disease, nutrition, social work, patient
advocacy, psychiatry, and pediatrics. UCLA is currently following over 100 ADPKD patients,
10 ARPKD patients, and 10 pediatric PKD patients.
There is a wide array of services that the UCLA PKD Program provides, including kidney
transplant and donation, nephrectomy, hemodialysis, home hemodialysis, peritoneal
dialysis, genetic testing and counseling, aneurysm screening, dietary counseling, and
mental health counseling.
The UCLA PKD Program is committed to ongoing research and clinical studies, including
basic science, applied clinical science, outcomes, and evidence-based research, in the
mission to develop new treatments and cures for polycystic kidney disease. For information
