Program Areas
The UCLA Division of Infectious Diseases oversees programs for infectious disease prevention, research and treatment across a wide range of conditions and geographical regions. We operate and are affiliated with large National Institutes of Health (NIH)-funded clinical trials networks to study HIV treatment and prevention strategies and are home to one of the world’s first centers dedicated exclusively to HIV/AIDS research.
Laboratories within the UCLA Division of Infectious Diseases conduct basic science, translational and clinical research, including implementation science, across a wide array of focus areas, from the molecular mysteries behind viral evasion of the immune system to the efficacy of new treatment modalities for HIV. Our paradigm-shifting and lifesaving work is supported by philanthropy in addition to public funds and industry investments.
