NEUROSURGERY HOUSESTAFF MUST CALL STATEMENT

In the event that a resident is unexpectedly unable to attend/perform assigned clinical work, the most senior resident of that service along with the Program Director (or representative) will discuss the potential impact of this absence with the affected Site Director. Should the absence negatively impact patient care, the Program Director (or representative) will arrange for another resident, or physician extender, to cover the essential clinical responsibilities for the absent resident.
