Dear Applicants,

Thank you for your interest in UCLA Pediatric Hospital Medicine! In order to provide an equitable review of all applicants, our program has taken guidance from the APPD and CoPS and will commit to the following for this match cycle:

  • Perform a holistic review of applications, recognizing that access to different clinical, research, extracurricular, work, and other experiences vary significantly at baseline, and are further impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
  • Recognize that residents may have experienced non-traditional rotations during the pandemic, including virtual learning experiences and on-line educational programming.
  • Offer virtual interviews to ALL applicants including local ones, to minimize the health risks of traveling during this coronavirus pandemic and to provide a more equitable structure for applicants and programs since some areas are disproportionately more affected by COVID-19 and some applicants are disproportionately impacted by the health and financial ramifications of COVID-19.

How to Apply

Applications for the 2023-34 academic year will be reviewed using ERAS. Applicants must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Pediatrics upon entering fellowship. Selection will be made through the NRMP fall match. Additional resources may be found at https://www.aap.org/phmfellows.

Important Deadlines: 

ERAS Application: Open to submissions July 6, 2022

Interview Invitations: Sent as early as July 20, 2022, rolling thereafter

NRMP Rank List Certification Deadline: November 16, 2022

NRMP Match Day: November 30, 2022

Start Date: July 8, 2023
