Our program offers unparalleled clinical and research opportunities at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, UCLA Medical Center Santa Monica and the VA Greater Los Angeles Health Care System. Fellows participate in both in-patient and out-patient care at our three exceptional sites, gaining exposure to diverse patient population while learning to diagnose and manage a wide variety of endocrine disorders. Our fellows assume progressive independence in clinical care as they advance through our two year fellowship program, with the goal of providing trainees with advanced training and experience needed to acquire knowledge, skills, and competencies required to be a consultant in Endocrinology.
During our two year training program (4-6 fellows per year), fellows will spend their time in a wide variety of learning and patient care environments:
Our program's unique learner centered approach further enhances a fellow's development through full access to the faculty, educational resources, research opportunities, and clinical experiences at all affiliated medical centers.
In addition, the STAR program track at UCLA offers clinicians interested in research the ability to pursue both clinical & research training.
The UCLA Division of Endocrinology, along with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, aims for excellence in the areas of education, research, community engagement, and clinical care. Our core values of diversity and inclusion are inseparable from these institutional goals. A critical part of our mission is to actively recruit a diverse group of fellows. This goal to encourage and promote diversity extends to our faculty and staff and is integral to our success and continued progress as a Division and training program.
At UCLA, our fellows have the opportunity to engage in a number of EDI activities to promote community building, open dialogue and lifelong learning in the health equity and advocacy space. Furthermore, the fellowship is LGBTQ+ affirming and UCLA Health is consistently rated highly by the Human Rights Campaign’s Healthcare Equality Index. Check out highlights from our GME Equity and Diversity Inclusion, our Department of Medicine Office of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion, and the UCLA Health LGBTQ Resources webpage to learn more.
We are extremely proud of the training program that we have created and continue to strive for improvement from year to year.
