Each year a new group of ophthalmology residents begins a three-year ophthalmology training program under the direction of the UCLA Department of Ophthalmology. Conducted at the Stein Eye Institute and affiliated medical centers, the program offers participants an educational experience that covers the spectrum of ophthalmology and is characterized by a graduated increase in responsibility. Residents who complete the program are prepared to take and pass the examinations to qualify as a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology.
