The below represents current visitor guidelines for Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. Full visitor guidelines for all UCLA Health hospitals and clinics can be found here.

  • Beginning October 1, 2023, UCLA Health will observe the following guidelines:

    • Masks are required in patient care areas (ex. patient rooms, clinic suites, and patient waiting areas), inclusive of visitors.

    • Masks are not required for visitors in non-patient care areas, including, but not limited to main lobbies, unit hallways and visitor/family waiting rooms.

  • Visitors for in-patient visits must check in at the hospitality services information desk for a visitor badge.
  • We strongly recommend that visitors refrain from eating in the patient care areas.
  • If you are experiencing a cough, cold or symptoms of any infectious disease, please stay home.   

Adult and pediatric inpatients (including shared rooms), labor & delivery patients and NICU babies

  • There may be instances where visitors will be limited due to space, safety, privacy and clinical needs.
  • One overnight visitor per patient is allowed unless safe care is impacted.
  • All visitors must register at the information desk to receive a badge and be symptom-free of any infectious disease.
  • NICU: Due to space constraints, visits from children may be limited.

Same day surgery patients

  • There may be instances where visitors will be limited due to space, safety, privacy and clinical needs.
  • Visitors will be assigned to a designated waiting room.
  • All visitors must register at the information desk to receive a badge and be symptom-free of any infectious disease.

Emergency department patients

  • 2 visitors for patients in emergency department rooms and 1 visitor for patients in hallway beds.

    • Pediatric patients: 2 healthy visitors/guardians at a time.

    • Visitors may be asked to leave if the department becomes overcrowded.

    • All visitors must check in with security for a visitor badge, be symptom-free of any infectious disease and stay in the patient's room.

    • Visitors with patients slated for admission must check in at the main lobby information desk to receive a visitor badge prior to going to the patient room.
