He received his M.D. from the Ohio State University College of Medicine in 2001, completed his general surgery residency at The Mount Sinai Hospital and his vascular surgery fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Prior to joining UCLA, he held academic positions at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

Dr. Kaldas is Associate Director of the Abdominal Transplant & Hepatobiliary Fellowship Program and Director of the Liver Transplant Program. He completed his undergraduate studies in microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics at UCLA and obtained his MD degree at the University of California, Irvine. He completed his surgical residency training at SUNY Stony Brook before returning to UCLA for his multi organ transplant fellowship training under the mentorship of Dr. Ronald W. Busuttil.
