Los Angeles LGBT Center
The Los Angeles LGBT Center is dedicated to building a world where LGBT thrive as healthy, equal, and complete members of society.

Transforming Families
An LA-based family support group creating a positive environment for children, adolescents and their families to explore issues of gender identity.
Programs include:

  • Family/Caregiver support group (18 and older)
  • Adolescent/Young Adult support group (13-24)
  • Tween support group (10-13)
  • Sibling Peer Group (13-24)
  • Elementary Play Group (5-11)

Los Angeles LGBT Center Trans Lounge
An educational, empowerment, and social program serving the LA trans community. Anyone who identifies as trans is welcome to join the Trans Lounge. Membership is free of charge. Programs include an incredible breadth of workshops, labs, and support groups.

TransYouth Family Allies
An organization that empowers children and families by partnering with educators, service providers and communities to develop supportive environments in which gender may be expressed and respected. TYFA has resource materials as web pages and printable PDFs for parents.

PFLAG Transgender Network 
National website for PFLAG transgender communities and for family, friends, and allies of transgender persons. With commitment a threefold mission statement of support, education, and advocacy.

LifeWorks
A youth development and mentoring program of the LA Gay & Lesbian Center.

MyPronouns.org
MyPronouns.org is a practical resource dedicated to the empowering and inclusive use of personal pronouns in the English language.

GLAAD
GLAAD rewrites the script for LGBTQ acceptance. As a dynamic media force, GLAAD tackles tough issues to shape the narrative and provoke dialogue that leads to cultural change.

National Center for Transgender Equality
The National Center for Transgender Equality is a national social justice advocacy organization for transgender people.

Transgender American Veterans Association
The Transgender American Veterans Association is a grassroots organization that advocates for the equality of transgender veterans and active duty service members to receive fair and equal treatment in areas such as healthcare, benefits, and open transgender military service. 

TransFamily Support Services
The mission of TransFamily Support Services is to save lives by shaping a gender affirming and accepting community by offering support groups, family engagement services, and training services.

Supporting LGBTQ+ youth who are Black, Indigenous and people of color
A resource for ways in which families and friends can support LGBTQ+ and LGBTQ2S (Two-spirit*) -identified youth who are Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC).

The EMPWR Program at UCLA
The UCLA EMPWR ("empower") Program is a joint initiative of the UCLA Division of Child Psychiatry and the UCLA Division of Population Behavioral Health designed to promote well-being and resilience in LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer/Questioning) children, teenagers and young adults. EMPWR provides a safe, affirming environment for LGBTQ youth with mental health concerns related to stressful and/or traumatic experiences. This program links families to an expert team of attending psychiatrists and psychologists as well as supervised advanced trainees who deliver comprehensive mental health care. Specialized individual, family and group programs build on personal strengths, foster healthy identity formation and mitigate the consequences of stressful and/or traumatic experiences. Services provided, include: individual therapy, group therapy, family therapy, comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, and medication management services. For more information, contact us at [email protected] or 310-825-7573. The Trevor Project

The Williams Institute is a think tank at UCLA School of Law dedicated to conducting rigorous, independent research on sexual orientation and gender identity law and public policy. 

Transgender Law Center
Transgender Law Center works to change law, policy, and attitudes so that all people can live safely, authentically, and free from discrimination regardless of their gender identity or expression. They have also created an information and resource publication for health care providers, “10 Tips for Working with Transgender Patients.”

Trans Youth Handbook
The Trans Youth Handbook is a legal resource guide that covers the rights of trans youth across such a wide spectrum of situations, including identity documents, school, health care, non-affirming care environments, and work.

California Safe School Coalition
