The UCLA Heart Valve Diseases Program’s goal is to be able to provide multidisciplinary comprehensive care to patients with valvular heart disease.  The UCLA Heart Valve Program offers state-of-the-art care in the following services:
Imaging procedures

  • Transthoracic echocardiography
  • Transesophageal echocardiography including 3D TEE
  • Intracardiac echocardiography
  • Cardiac Computed Tomography (CT) and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI)

Catheter-based procedures

  • Balloon Valvuloplasty (aortic valve, mitral valve, pulmonic valve)
  • Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (Edwards SAPIEN valve)
  • Transcatheter Pulmonic Valve Implantation (Medtronic MELODY valve)

Surgical-based procedures

  • Surgical valve replacement including minimally invasive aortic valve replacement (AVR)
  • Surgical valve repair including robotic-assisted mitral valve repair
