Opened in September of 2016, the Santa Monica Outpatient Center (SMOC) serves patients that require a hemodialysis permacath placement, exchange or removal and those patients experiencing problems with an established dialysis access, such as an arteriovenous (AV) fistula or graft or peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter. SMOC was established in response to the urgent needs of dialysis patients treating in the surrounding communities. Patients no longer have to go through the emergency department to receive these critical procedures.
