The major focus of our research is to determine the role of positron emission tomography (PET and PET/CT) for managing patients with onocological, cardiological, and neurological diseases. Specifically, the impact of PET and PET/CT on detection, staging and monitoring of treatment of lymphoma, lung, colorectal, breast and ovarian cancers are investigated. New approaches to detect and stage prostate cancer are being developed. Cardiological research focuses on characterizing viable myocardium by PET in heart failure patients as well as on cost-effective management of these patients. Research in merging molecular diagnostics and molecular therapies is pursued.
