Resources for Children and Adults With Cerebral Palsy 

Additional support helps children and adults with cerebral palsy thrive. We’ve compiled a list of resources to help you access adaptive equipment, recreational activities and advocacy services.

State-funded programs and services 

California Children’s Services (CCS) 

CCS offers diagnosis, treatment and case management for children under 21 with certain medical conditions. 

To apply: 

  1. Complete the CCS application (English [PDF] or Spanish [PDF]).
  2. Submit the application to your county CCS office.

Children age 3 to 17 and adults 

The California Department of Developmental Services offers regional centers to assess and diagnose developmental disabilities. Eligible patients must have a disability that begins before their 18th birthday that’s expected to continue indefinitely. 

You don’t need a referral for these services. Contact your regional center to apply.

Early Start (birth to 3 years) 

The Early Start (ES) program is a California service for infants and toddlers with known developmental delays or a risk for them. Anyone can refer your child to a regional center, including you.

Social and Community Activities 

Adrian’s Place (Santa Monica) 
Adrian’s Place is an inclusive community hub for teens and young adults. They offer dance, sports, cooking and arts classes, along with camps and special events.
