UCLA Diabetes Prevention Program

UCLA Diabetes Prevention Program (DPP) provides education, encouragement, and the tools necessary to help individuals reach their health goals. Participants meet in a classroom setting for an hour once a week for the first three months, biweekly (every other week), for the next three months, and once a month for the last six months. The Prevent T2 curriculum includes basic information on nutrition, ways to increase physical activity, stress management techniques, and ideas to stay motivated.

UCLA Diabetes Education Program

The UCLA Diabetes Education Program provides both primary and consultative diabetes care to referred patients. Adult patients with both type 1 diabetes and type 2 diabetes are seen in the clinics and family members are considered an integral part of the care process. UCLA faculty physicians, nurses, technicians and educators provide patient care services. The program also works closely with other UCLA physicians skilled in the diagnosis and treatment of diabetic complications, creating a large, multidisciplinary network.
