9th annual run/walk to benefit Mattel Children's Hospital UCLA

Registration is open for the ninth annual 5K run/walk to benefit UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. The event will begin at 7 a.m. on Sunday, April 13, at Bruin Plaza, located at 308 Westwood Plaza on the UCLA campus.
 
This year's Hollywood-themed event will feature celebrity guests, live music, exciting prizes, activities for all ages and great food. Past runners and walkers have ranged in age from 5 to 95 and have included elementary and high school students and their families, and UCLA staff, faculty and alumni.
 
Registration is $15 for individuals ($10 for individuals in teams of at least six members) and is free for chidlren age 5 and under. For registration and more information, please visit www.runwalk.ucla.edu or call (310) 825-5433.
 
Proceeds will directly benefit the internationally renowned Child Life/Child Development Program at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. Established in 1968, the program addresses the unique needs of pediatric patients — especially the critically and chronically ill — by offering play therapy, expert consultations and genuine support for the patients and their families. The program was one of the first of its kind in the country and continues to be a model for other medical centers.
