Alexa's Story

It has been over five years since Alexa was last released from the hospital. After being diagnosed with Medulloablastoma in 2013, Alexa spent over a year in and out of the hospital. She went through five months of chemotherapy and another month of radiation treatments. Today, she is healthy and is a very active ten-year-old. She is taking dance lessons, something she thoroughly enjoys. Her favorite class is Musical Theatre and she can't wait until recital time. She also keeps busy with her new hobby, sewing. This year Alexa started middle school. It is hard to believe that she is now a sixth grader! She has adapted well to middle school and loves her robotics class.

Alexa is a proud Dribble for the Cure captain.

UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital is pleased to join forces with the Pediatric Cancer Research Foundation (PCRF) for the 11th Anniversary of the Dribble for the Cure event.
