“I have the greatest job in the world,” says Carolina Marvin, a labor and delivery nurse at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. “I get to be a part of the creation of a family or I get to be part of the addition to a family, and it’s just the most beautiful moment in somebody’s life. And I get to be here; it’s an honor. It’s scary to be a new parent, so I really enjoy helping families feel confident about their new job as parents. I will pull a new dad aside and teach them to be a master swaddler so they fee l confident in their new role. I want parents to feel like they’re leaving with the tools to be successful.“
