Latino health workshop for journalists

A workshop about health problems specific to Latinos and disparities in health care for Latinos will be held Saturday, Dec. 8, at UCLA. It is being sponsored by the California Wellness Foundation, the UCLA Office of Media Relations and the Los Angeles Chapter of the California Chicano News Media Association.
 
Speakers will include David Hayes-Bautista, PhD, professor of medicine and director of the Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture; Michael A. Rodriguez, associate professor of family medicine at UCLA; and pediatrician Patrica Riba of the Community Care Health Center in Huntington Beach, Calif.
 
Also speaking will be Los Angeles Times reporter Charles Ornstein and Fox11 News producer Gerri Shaftel, who will talk about health stories they have written or produced.
