“My mom passed away from lymphoma cancer four years ago,” reveals Hilda Zamora, a purchasing coordinator in the department of medicine. “I wanted to give back after her passing, and now that I’m getting over a little of the grief, raising money for the Light the Night Walk seems meant to be.

It feels like a great opportunity for me to try to give something back to such a good cause that helped my mom during her transition of leaving us. We could have had her for one year, but instead, we had her for three years because of the care she had. Knowing all the people who were there for my mom just fills my heart with love. I’m glad UCLA Health is taking part in this to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Working in a place that actually cares about giving back is amazing.”

Join the UCLA Health team at the 2019 LLS Light The Night Walk on Sat, Nov 9th in Century City and meet some of our amazing patients, staff and their families. Register at lightthenightucla.org.
