UCLA Health article
The ninth annual Mattel Party on the Pier benefiting UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital will take place at the Santa Monica Pier's Pacific Park from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 7. Tickets for the event are now available.

Guests will be treated to various festivities, including rides, carnival games with Mattel prizes, arts and crafts, celebrity encounters, scrumptious food, and a silent auction.

"As a state-assisted institution, UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital has increasingly limited funding and must rely on the charitable support of private donors and community partners," said Dr. Edward McCabe, the hospital's physician-in-chief. "Last year's Mattel Party on the Pier generated nearly $650,000 to benefit important programs and research. We truly appreciate our sponsors and guests who generously contribute to the specialized care and well-being of our pediatric patients."

The Mattel Children's Foundation is the event's title sponsor. Additional major sponsors include Beth and Neal Cutler, M.D., the Milken Family Foundation, Ellen and Richard Sandler, the Thomas Spiegel Family Foundation, Feet First Eventertainment and L.A. Parent magazine.

Young celebrities anticipated at the event include Jennette McCurdy of "iCarly," Sammi Hanratty of "The Suite Life of Zack and Cody" and "Pushing Daisies," Danielle Hanratty of "The Unit," Field Cate of "Pushing Daisies," Raymond Ochoa of the upcoming film "A Christmas Carol," and Ryan Ochoa of "The Perfect Game."

General admission tickets are $100 for adults and $50 for children ages 2 to 12; children under 2 are admitted free. Tickets must be purchased in advance, as the event is expected to sell out.
