Tickets are available for the eighth annual Mattel Party on the Pier benefiting UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital. The event will take place at Pacific Park, located on the Santa Monica Pier, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 23.

Guests will be treated to various festivities, including thrilling rides, carnival games with Mattel prizes, arts and crafts, celebrity encounters, scrumptious food, and a silent auction.

"As a state-assisted institution, UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital has increasingly limited funding and must rely on the charitable support of private donors and community partners," said Dr. Edward R.B. McCabe, the hospital's physician-in-chief. "Last year's Mattel Party on the Pier generated nearly $500,000 to benefit important programs and research. We truly appreciate our sponsors and guests who generously contribute to the specialized care and well-being of our pediatric patients."

General admission tickets are $100 for adults and $50 for children ages 2 to 12; children under 2 are admitted free. Tickets must be purchased in advance, as the event is expected to sell out. To order tickets, or for sponsorship opportunities, call Erica Edwards at (310) 267-1836 or visit www.partyonthepier.ucla.edu.

Mattel Inc. is the event's title sponsor. Additional major sponsors include the American Honda Motor Corporation; Beth and Neal Cutler, M.D.; Duracell; the Milken Family Foundation; OPI Products Inc.; Ellen and Richard Sandler; the Thomas Spiegel Family Foundation; Feet First Eventertainment; Radio Disney; and L.A. Parent magazine.

UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, one of the highest-rated children's hospitals in Southern California, is a vital component of UCLA Medical Center, which was recently ranked by U.S. News & World Report as the third best hospital in nation and best in the western United States. Mattel Children's Hospital offers a full spectrum of primary and specialized medical care for infants, children and adolescents. The hospital's mission is to provide state‑of-the-art treatment for children in a compassionate atmosphere, as well as to improve the understanding and treatment of pediatric diseases.
