Actress Natasha Richardson has suffered a potentially fatal brain injury following a skiing accident. UCLA has experts on traumatic brain injury and brain death.
 
Dr. Neil Martin, chief of the UCLA Department of Neurosurgery and co-director of the UCLA Stroke Center, is an expert on cerebral blood flow and brain metabolism following brain injury. He is recognized as one of the top specialists in the area of surgical treatment of cerebrovascular disease.
