Family Planning Services For Patients at UCLA

The UCLA OBGYN Division of Family Planning is committed to assisting patients with their family planning and fertility control needs. We offer a variety of services, including community outreach, education, and appointments for contraceptive counseling, abortion care, STI testing/treatment, along with other gynecologic services. Our team of experts specialize in caring for patients with complex medical backgrounds and are committed to providing compassionate, patient-centered care to all.

COVID-19 Coronavirus and Family Planning at UCLA Health Obstetrics and Gynecology:

Family planning services remain available during this time!  In alignment with national experts, UCLA Health has put physical-distancing measures and extra precautions in place to protect all patients and providers in our clinics.  For non-emergency needs, we will offer appointments by video visit or by phone with one of our expert physicians. For all appointments related to induced and spontaneous abortions, we will offer our next available, in-person appointment. Birth Control Tales

Our division of family planning at UCLA is happy to announce the addition of a new patient education tool “Birth Control Tales” aka BC Tales. In this tool, we are presenting theory based educational comics about birth control methods. The first comic presented will provide information about intrauterine devices.

We have completed pilot testing of this comic and are working on developing comics related to other birth control methods. The comic is available as a web page and as mobile applications in iOS and android platforms.

Services offered:

Our physicians provide general gynecologic care and a full range of family planning services to our diverse patient population.

Contraception services:
We offer all FDA approved birth control methods for our patients. This includes birth control pills, birth control patch, birth control ring, birth control shot, intrauterine device (IUD), birth control implant, barrier methods and other consultation for contraception services for women with medical conditions.

We provide a full range of medical and surgical termination of pregnancy services.

General gynecological care:
We offer sexually transmitted infection screening (for both men and women) and variety of preventative and therapeutic gynecological examination and or procedures.
