A diagnosis of cancer significantly impacts an individual at any point in their life. At UCLA, we understand that a concurrent or subsequent pregnancy can add another layer of complexity to treatment and surveillance. The anatomical, hormonal, obstetrical and psychosocial aspects of both the cancer and the pregnancy must be understood and carefully balanced to ensure that the care of both the mother and fetus are optimized. With a world-class oncologic and high-risk obstetric referral service both housed within the same institution, UCLA has expertise in caring for individuals with prior history, current diagnosis, or potential risk for cancers during pregnancy.
