What is a Pre-conception Consultation?

Preconception care is primary prevention and an integral first step towards a healthy pregnancy. At UCLA Maternal-fetal Medicine, we work with patients, their obstetricians, and healthcare teams to ensure that their diagnoses, medications, and exposures are discussed and optimized prior to undertaking a pregnancy. By modifying these risks, we may be able to improve outcomes in pregnancies before they even start.
