Treatment for:

Varicose, Reticular and Telangiectasia (spider veins)

How it’s done:

Sclerotherapy is performed to help decrease the appearance of spider veins. A microscopic needle is used to inject a sclerosant into each individual vein to make them shrink and become less noticeable. Longer veins can also be injected with a sclerosant and often times foamed. Ultrasound may be used.

Level of anesthesia:

Non-required polydoronol injected (sclerosant)

Risks of procedures:

Most procedures carry a risk, for these venous treatments the risks are minimal. Complications may include allergic reaction, bleeding, blood clots, ulceration, infection, or non-closure of the vein.

Post-procedure:

You will be required to wear a compression stocking for a week after the procedure, although 3 weeks of compression is preferred.
