Matt joined the UCLA Health Sound Body Sound Mind team in September 2015. As Executive Director, Matt's primary focus is the overall strategy and management of the SBSM program, including community partnerships, fundraising and program development.
Matt grew up in Yorba Linda, CA, and is a graduate of UCLA, with a double major in Geography/Environmental Studies and History. At his core, Matt believes that health equity is one of the most important concepts to promote in today's world.
Driven by a lifelong passion for the outdoors, you will often find Matt hiking, backpacking, and rock climbing.

Paola joined the UCLA Health Sound Body Sound Mind family in December 2019. She manages the implementation of program and the relationships across all SBSM schools.
Paola has been working in the education and non-profit sector for the past six years. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and a Bachelor’s degree in Child & Adolescent Development with a focus in Family Studies. Paola’s passion for her work is rooted in her experiences during high school. During her high school years, she was provided with crucial resources that guided her through life and shaped who she is as a person and as a professional.
Paola loves swimming, racket sports, and celebrates diversity by learning about different cultures through their fitness practices and culinary arts.

Amelia joined the UCLA Health Sound Body Sound Mind team in December 2020. She holds a BS in Kinesiology with a focus in Applied Fitness and Healthy Lifestyle Development from California State University Northridge, where her passion for public health began. Amelia believes that movement and exercise, connection and interaction with nature, and strong communities are essential in our health and overall wellbeing.
When she’s not climbing rocks or exploring a new outdoor area, Amelia enjoys testing new recipes and tending to her indoor garden. Her life motto is, “Next Adventure!” and she strives to make adventures possible for everyone.
