Both Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center and UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center were recognized for nursing excellence by the American Nursing Credentialing Center Magnet Recognition Program. It was the fourth Magnet award for the Westwood hospital and the second for Santa Monica. Fewer than 10% of health care organizations out of nearly 6,200 nationwide are recognized as Magnet facilities.
The award is conferred every four years to health care organizations that demonstrate excellence in nursing and patient care, as well as innovation in professional nursing practice.
