Care Compliments

Elaine T.

I normally have pretty high anxiety when it comes to getting blood drawn, but Elaine made me feel comforted and the process was painless. Nicest first visit to the doctor I've had 🙂

Dr. Navi showed extraordinary care of me before and during my Urologic surgery on July 31. She informed and reassured me and listened carefully to my concerns. She is a gem.

Marina M.

Dr. Mikael conducted my pre-op tele conference. She was prepared and knowledgeable about my medical problems and reassuring about my concerns.

Jay N.

Jay is a miracle blood draw staff member. I never even feel the needle go in nor during his pulling several vials of blood. After being poked many times during my lung transplant stay his soft touch means a great deal.

Susana L.

Susana is one of the most kind and caring care partners who has attended me on 8W when I came in for some follow up issues to my 7/9 lung transplant. Her gentle way made my day much less frightening. Her encouragement meant everything.

Sydney S.

My therapist, Sydney Siegel, has been seeing me for about two years, about about once every two weeks to provide psycho social support. She has been very helpful and kind in her work with me and I recommend her department, the Simms Mann Center for their care and concern about their patients.

Maria P.

We were not allowed to stay with our daughter when she was in a lot of pain and I was so worried about her. Maria advocated for us with drs to give pain meds and she kept close eye on her. The sweetest thing was when I came in the morning I found Maria had my daughters gauze around her gtube in heart shape as well as a few extra. It was so touching and encourgaging after a long difficult night for my daughter and I to be greeted with a heart . I didn't see Maria but that heart shape made me feel Lucia was cared with a lot of loving care when I was not allowed to be with her.

It was daughter Gillian Ratto 's GREAT fortune to have Dr.Anthony Wang as the head attending surgeon when she was 911 to Ronald Regan Medical Center, unknowingly at that time she had an AVM rupture. Assisted byDr.Joseph Bell my daughter survived, and is making a remarkable recovery. There were MANY more Doctors , nurses and staff that contributed to her survival and we can never be grateful enough to each and everyone of them. We are a native East coast family & I am not sure if this occurred here we would have the same resolve as her success to be at UCLA. Words, letter, compliments cannot express the depth of my humble gratitude . FOREVER grateful, Joan Ratto Fodera

Sharon H.

Dr. Hame is an amazing surgeon and has great bedside manner in engaging with her patients. She is on time for her appointments and I genuinely like her as a person, not just my doctor/surgeon. She responds timely to MyChart messages and is very attrentive in general.

Francis F.

Dr. Ferrante and his team were very responsive to messages I sent when I was having surgery and encountered issues with the pharmacy regarding my pain medication. His office resolved it in plenty of time and I am appreciative for their help and understanding.

Maureen "mo" U.

Maureen was my RN from the moment I walked in with a broken water at 730 pm (33 weeks pregnant) until her shift was over and she was so attentive and she is so knowledgeable about all my many complications and conditions which made me feel very comfortable and in great hands. She listened to any input I had about my care. I know most nurses are caring people but I work in a hospital so I have a pretty good sample size and Maureen is definitely in the top 90 percent for her job. She was is so well rounded in compassion, knowledge and clinical care and has an outstanding bedside manner. Nothing more I could have asked for in my nurse at this stressful time.

Michelle K.

After I was moved from the ER to the hospital, Michelle helped get me settled in and helped answer all my random questions. Because my COVID test had not come back yet, my wife was unable to come up to see how I was doing and give me a bag of my things. Michelle kindly said offered to go downstairs and pick up the bag. When she saw my wife, she could tell my wife was very worried and took the initiative to help calm her anxiety. My wife even called me afterwards to tell me how nice Michelle was, not only offering to personally pick up the bag, but the way she went above and beyond to help a worried love one feel better. Thank you Michelle!

Justine M.

After I got back to my room from my surgery, it was already 8:30pm and as the doctor explained to me what I should expect that night, he mentioned that I had no food restrictions but that I couldn't order any food since it was after 7pm. I told him that it was alright, I wasn't too hungry and I would just go to sleep. Then after accepting that I missed dinner, Justine comes in 15 minutes later with a sandwich, yogurt and pudding! I said "I thought the cafeteria was closed." She replied that even though it had, there were some snacks available and she figured I'd be hungry so she hoped the sandwich and dessert would suffice. Justine, that was more that enough! Thank you for not letting me go to bed hungry!

Trudy J.

Being my first time staying in a hospital, I had no idea what to expect. Trudy was very helpful in making me feel comfortable. I also did not realize how difficult it was going to be for me to get out of bed after the surgery. Trudy was very patient helping me and teaching me a new method of maneuvering my body to make it easier to get out of bed. I ended up using that technique once I got home and didn't have Trudy to help me in the middle of the night. Thanks Trudy!

Teresa S.

Definately deserving of her Super Doctor recognition. In addition to her rockstar dermatology skills, she was a pleasure to deal with as a person. Too often senior staff and faculty are too busy to take the time to discuss a case in detail or answer all a patients questions. It can feel like they can't wait to move on to the next case. With Dr. Soriano I never had the feeling that she was in a hurry, or had any responsibilites other than my care. I wish all my doctors were like her.

Albert L.

You have been a constant and consistent source of information and reassurance to me during this scary time.

By: Eugene A.

Dr Eric H.

Dr. Hsu has consistently been supportive during this pandemic. I had to have a procedure and he and and his staff made me feel safe and secure in a time when I usually don't feel neither safe nor secure. The care that he shows me makes me work harder to get better. I appreciate Dr. Hsu!
