Thank you for considering the UCLA Department of Anesthesiology and Perioperative Medicine for your Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship Training.

We will be accepting applications for the 2027 – 2028 academic year beginning Monday, January 5, 2026.

Four fellowship positions are available per year. 

Application deadline: Wednesday, March 4, 2026

Interview Dates: TBD

Interviews are by invitation only. Your file will not be reviewed until it is complete.

The expected start date for the Fellowship is August 1st.

Prior to appointment in the program, all fellows must have successfully completed an ACGME-accredited residency in anesthesiology and must possess a valid California medical license.

Please submit the following to the SF Match application database at sfmatch.org.

Completed fellowship application

  • Central Application Service (CAS) Application
    • Complete Personal Info form
      • Required Supplemental form (submission required)
      • Personal Statement
      • Curriculum vitae including a list of publications
      • Medical School Transcripts (international medical graduates should include a notarized English translation)
      • Medical Diploma (or letter from medical school with official seal verifying date of graduation; international medical graduates should include a notarized English translation)
      • USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3/COMLEX 1, 2 and 3 or equivalent transcripts.
      • Three (3) Letters of Reference*
        • *One letter should be from the training program director. The other two letters should be from objective physicians. (i.e., not relatives or family friends) who have direct personal knowledge of your skills and ethics.
      • Valid ECFMG (applicable to International Medical Graduate)

  • Dean's Letter/Medical Student Performance Evaluation
  • Copy of In-Training Examination Score Reports during residency
  • Copy of ABA Basic Examination Result Letter
  • Wallet-sized Photo

Please be aware that all candidates who are selected for the program must clear a security background check.
