Luminex Multiplexed Technology: Luminex's xMAP® Immunoassay is a technology that allows for the simultaneous quantification of up to 100 analytes in serum/plasma and other body fluids, tissue culture supernatants, or tissue/cell lysates, making them a useful tool in both disease mechanistic studies and in biomarker discovery. Available analytes include cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, soluble receptors, and hormonnes. Additionally, Luminex assays can be used to quantify RNA and phosphorylated signaling molecules in cell or tissue lysates. We currently offer both fully validated cytokine/chemokine panels and subpanels and other panels pertaining to immunology, metabolism, toxicity, etc. Luminex panels are customizable to the investigators’ needs. For a complete list of available multiplex Luminex applications and analyte panels, please visit the vendors’ pages, the major being Millipore, R&D, eBioscience and ThermoScientific. Virtually any magnetic bead-based kit can be run on our instruments. By including proper quality control and following optimized SOPs, we provide test results with 3-4% intra-plate CV and less than 15% inter-plate CV. For projects with >300 samples, e.g. clinical trials, prior consultation with the laboratory is recommended to ensure optimal sample processing.

The Table below lists some common analytes of interest available for testing by the Luminex platform, included in Human 38-plex and Mouse 32-plex Cytokine/Chemokine Panels, respectively.

Single-molecule array (Simoa) technology enables ultrasensitive protein detection that is suited to the development of peripheral blood-based assays and quantitation of soluble immune signaling molecules in an unprecedented femtomolar range, opening up the potential for liquid biopsy-type approaches in immuno-oncology and neurology. Simoa assays are also suited for other body fluids, tissue culture supernatants, or tissue/cell lysates. Available analytes include cytokines, chemokines, growth factors, soluble receptors, and hormones. For a complete list of available Simoa applications and analyte panels, please visit the vendors’ pages, the major being Quanterix.

ELISA: We currently offer the following validated ELISA assays with less than 15% intra-plate and inter-plate variance.

  • Cytokines/Growth factors: IL-6, BAFF, BDNF, IGF-1, VEGF
  • Hormones: Prolactin, Adiponectin, Procalcitonin
  • Acute phase proteins: C-reactive protein (CRP), serum amyloid A (SAA)
  • Complement components: C4, C1-inhibitor
