General Surgery Residency
Intern Anatomy Curriculum
Dr. Peacock (above) and Dr. Chang guide interns in the Surgical Anatomy Lab, focusing on cadaveric procedural dissections.
During the intern year, categorical trainees work closely with Dr. Warwick Peacock, who leads the department’s surgical anatomy laboratory. Over the course of 20 individual sessions, interns review surgical anatomy and critical procedures on cadaveric models. Teaching cases include cricothyroidotomies, thoracotomies, hepatectomies, and fasciotomies, to name a few. Located adjacent to Ronald Reagan Hospital, the anatomy laboratory is easily accessible, and residents of all levels have the opportunity to return to the anatomy lab for pertinent refreshers and additional practice.
