The Early Cardiovascular Health Outreach SMS (ECHOS) program is a fun and innovative way to educate young adults and teens on 'Heart Healthy' facts.
Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States among all age groups! Prevention of heart disease begins early and we offer resources to teens so that they may have the knowledge and tools to live healthier lives.
Our program sends weekly text messages, providing tips and covering topics such as; nutrition and healthy eating, excercise, mindful living, sleep improvement, stress reduction, tobacco prevention, and diseases including high cholesterol, diabetes and heart diseaase. These tips and resources will keep teens and their families healthy.
Kim Uehisa and Kathryn Makeroff present a brief segment explaining ECHOS to interested audiences
When you choose to live heart healthy, your future self will thank you.
We are also collaborating with UCLA Teen Heart Health to devise teen friendly message with heart healthy facts that teens will read and practice.
