Expanding Practice

“We moved May to UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica,” says Shadman Habibi, lead nurse midwife for the UCLA Nurse Midwives group. “It’s been very exciting. Our clients have loved giving birth here. There are a lot of postpartum rooms available and the floor in the unit is very quiet. Nurse midwives are also women’s health practitioners and our hope is to expand our practice and offer a full scope midwifery service, which includes women’s health in all its variations. That means both caring for women who are pregnant and caring for women who are hoping to get pregnant, as well as caring for women after they give birth.”
