Time to fly: After ovarian cancer treatment, Sherrie Thompson is ready to travel

The UCLA Health patient received multidisciplinary care for an advanced stage of the disease.

Sherrie Thompson was diagnosed with ovarian cancer that had advanced to the point where the best option for treatment was a combination of chemotherapy and surgery. She's doing well, now, thanks to her multidisciplinary care team at UCLA Health - including gynecologic cancer surgeon Sanaz Memarzadeh, MD, PhD and hematologist/oncologist Kari Kubalanza, MD. In fact, she is doing so well she's ready to travel: "Because you feel free," Thompson says. "You have no thoughts on your mind, no worries about anything."
