Volunteering: To Get Started
Inviting Supervisors
- Supervisors must be UCLA Health Sciences employees and may not be undergraduate student workers or contingent staff.
- Supervisors must have a current and up to date Research Volunteer Scope of Duties (RVSD) Form on file that corresponds to an Opportunity Link sent to invited applicants to begin onboarding for the specific assignment.
- If an RVSD form is not on file, supervisors may complete and sign the RVSD form (Mednet login required): https://uclahs.box.com/s/bzuo1mfk2rg59fwyx30x4glcefb68vjc
- Please note that response times may be longer during the summer and at the start of the academic quarter. Thank you for your patience.
Volunteer Applicants
- Applicants must be officially invited by a UCLA Health Sciences faculty or staff supervisor and receive an Opportunity Link via email to start the onboarding process for the specific volunteer assignment. Please review volunteer eligibility before proceeding.
- New applicants must create a new account and then complete the prescreening and onboarding process.
- Current or returning volunteers must log into their existing volunteer account and then apply through the Opportunity Link.
What to Expect
Applicants may review the UCLA Health Sciences Volunteer Requirements in advance to prepare for onboarding.
The inviting supervisor is responsible for sending their selected applicants the Opportunity Link to sign up and begin the onboarding process.
Onboarding typically takes 1–2 weeks, pending background checks and required clearances. Scheduling for a follow-up onboarding becomes available only after all requirements are completed and verified, and final clearance is granted after completion of the Orientation Quiz.
