No, this program is not limited to specific departments. Trainees come from a variety of degree programs -PhD, MPH, MPH/MSW, and MECN–and represent students from across the UCLA campus including the Fielding School of Public Health, the Luskin School of Public Affairs, and the School of Nursing. We welcome any interested graduate students from UCLA to apply. If you’d like to speak with the program administrator regarding the MCH course requirements on top of your current degree course load, please email [email protected].

Historically, students have received an academic fund to increase resources for educational activities related to their academic pursuit of MCH-related activities. Starting in Fall 2022, new trainees in the Child and Family Health Training Program will receive a $2500stipend to support their participation in the program as well as $2500supplemental funds to support attendance at an MCH-focused conference. Supplemental funds for attending conferences have to be requested with program coordinator, at [email protected].

Recruitment occurs in the fall quarter of every academic year. Details on virtual and in-person recruitment sessions can be found on the Admissions page when available. Applicants are asked to submit the following:
