Welcome to the healthy eating section for the UCLA Center for Obesity and Metabolic Health.

In this section you will find the information you will need for long-term health and sustaining your weight reduction goals. Under the supervision of our registered dietitians, patients will discuss a balanced, low-calorie meal plan that incorporates lean protein, whole grains, low-fat dairy products, nutritious fats and plenty of fruits and vegetables. Our team is here to help you find ways to enjoy eating nutritious, filling foods. They are here to support you and motivate you to live a healthier life.

Christine Goukasian, MS, RD

Christine Goukasian, MS, RD
Registered Dietitian

Christine completed her Masters of Science in Nutritional Sciences at California State University, Los Angeles. She earned her Bachelors of Science in Nutrition, Dietetics and Food Science from California State University, Northridge. Her dietetic internship was completed at Lenoir-Rhyne University, with emphasis on childhood obesity. She has experience working in multiple areas including clinical nutrition, weight management, prenatal nutrition, diabetes and renal disease. She enjoys being part of a vital multidisciplinary team to help patients succeed in weight loss and is committed to helping patients meet their dietary needs through nutrition education. Christine believes the benefits of healthy nutrition on our mind and body is endless. She speaks Armenian fluently and is able to work with Armenian speaking patients.

Angie Huang Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Angie Huang, MS, RDN
Registered Dietitian Nutritionist

Angie is a second career dietitian with a focus in weight management and healthspan. She completed her Masters of Science in Nutrition, Healthspan and Longevity along with her dietetic internship from the University of Southern California and has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from UCLA. Angie has a previous background in biotechnology and research and has worked in various nutrition disciplines ranging from metabolic syndrome, cancer, diabetes, to clinical nutrition and bariatrics.
