Welcome to the Medical Staff Affairs Office. Our team focuses on the management and governance of UCLA Health's providers as well as specializing in verification of credentials and qualifications. Below you will find an overview of our roles and department-specific contact information.

Credentialing Specialists (CVO)

Our Credentialing Specialists are responsible for the collection, verification, and maintenance of practitioner credentials. This includes:

• Education and training verification
• State licensure verification
• Board certification validation
• Work history and clinical experience review

Medical Staff Liaisons (MSO)

Our Medical Staff Liaisons manage the privileging and appointment process and serve as primary department contacts. Responsibilities include:

• Review and assessment of privilege criteria
• Preparation of files for department and committee review
• Coordination of medical staff meetings
• Management of hospital appointment processes
• Ongoing practitioner support
• MSO Management is also involved in escalated practitioner matters when necessary.
