There’s almost always a sustainability event or virtual talk happening that you can participate in and support.

Earth Day and Earth Week

Earth Day is held each April 22nd to celebrate the achievements of the environmental movement and raise awareness for how we can slow climate change. UCLA Health Sustainability, Environmental Health & Safety, and Food Services and Nutrition will be hosting events at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on Monday, April 22nd, 2024 from 11 am – 3 pm and at UCLA Santa Monica Medical Center on Tuesday, April 23rd, 2023 from 11 am  – 3 pm. Join the festivities from 12 - 4pm both days to celebrate Earth Week, learn about ongoing initiatives, and enter drawings for giveaways! The Environmental Health & Safety team will also be holding their annual Cigarette Butt Clean Up Event to promote UCLA Health's tobacco free campus and award prizes to the participants who clean up the most cigarette butts. Visit our Earth Week page to learn more about our upcoming events!

Clean Air Day

Clean Air Day is in October and coincides with Sustainable Transportation Month. Transportation accounts for 40% of California's air pollution. UCLA Transportation and UCLA Health Sustainability promote Clean Air Day and Sustainable Transportation Month to help everyone breathe easier and to provide alternative commuting options such as walking, riding a bike, carpooling, or taking public transit to your destination.

Whether you’re interested in climate justice, clinical expertise, ecology, agriculture, wellness, wildfires, or leadership, the events calendar maintained by UCLA campus is the central hub for the latest events from leading experts in their fields. Visit the Events Calendar
